Insulated high voltage gloves are an essential for any electrical engineer. These types of gloves form an insulative barrier between an electrical point and the skin of an individual. This ensures work can be completed safely and without the risk of electrocution. They’re most important for use with higher voltage systems when touching the live system as this can be extremely damaging and potentially fatal if they aren’t worn.
High voltage gloves are constructed from high grade silicon rubber and are comfortable to wear, giving the user maximum flexibility and are certified for use against different levels of voltage. Many insulated gloves can also offer protect against acid, high temperatures or even mechanical damage. For extra protection, its also possible to use under gloves which are worn under high voltage gloves to further enhance movement and safety. Each pair of gloves is tested to accepted standards IEC 60903 and EN 60903 to ensure they are fully compliant and resistant to electrical properties.
These gloves are 1mm thick and have been designated with ‘0’ class by Catu. This means that they have been tested to 1000V AC and 1500V DC for protection against electricity. They are also designated with class ‘RC’ which means that the gloves are resistant to acid, oil, ozone and very low temperatures.
Our range of insulating gloves is available in various different types with different thicknesses and protection ratings.
